So here's my dilemma. a few months ago, i wanted to sell my quad and get a bike. i was gonna race bikes (i still want to) but i haven't ridden my quad in about a month. lately i've been having a huge urge to ride it, and i want to race at the same time. so im torn on what i want to do, but i wanna do SOMETHING instead of let it sit here, and not get ridden or just in the trails.

choice 1, is keep the 440, leave it as is and enter some local races with it. it runs fine, handles fine nothings wrong with it (besides stock width:mad: ) im not sure how well id do but i think it may be worth a shot in C class.

choice 2, sell the 440 and get a 450r/yfz. not put much into it and race local here and there, mostly hit up practices and not get to competitive(cant unless i dump money into it)

choice 3, stick to the original plan and sell the quad and get a bike to race.

i know its up to me in the end, but what would you guys do?

hey man i raced a 440 for like two years, eventually i was running local pro on it, but then again it was a full blown race bike, annnnddd it was like three years ago. but give it a shot and see what happens

Get a LTR. race it, you can be competitive. i got 5th in my qualifier in 4-stroke B in the nationals on a bone stock ltr. It can be raced competively stock!

i say stick to choice 3, go and pick up a 450. and race it.

the more i think about it, maybe ill race the 440 just a few races, and see how i do. and that will narrow it down to, Do i want a bike or quad..

im gonna have to start riding some more 450 quads and bikes:p

Ditch the 440, get a 450... quad.

They are so much more fun than the 400ex and way faster than a 440 just by adding some mild mods.

I prefer the kfx450 or yfz450, but the ltr would be most competitive at the track if its fairly stock.

i was in the same situation. i wanted a bike so bad. but now im glad i diddnt sell to get one. after riding a couple bikes, and riding the quad, i decided bikes were fun, but not for me. im in the proccess of selling my 400 to get a 450r right now. ive got enough money saved up from work so when my 400 i can buy a 450.

it all comes down to which is more fun to you, 2 wheels or 4 wheels. i suggest riding both in the same day so you can see which one you are more tempted to ride.

You can't just hop on a bike and race it, you need to learn how to handle it and ride it first. Not tryin to knock on ya or anything. If you just want to race right away, get a 450 quad.

well ive ridden plenty of bikes, and i wouldn't go racing right away on one but id most definitely be at practice, practicing haha.

i think what im going to do is enter a few with my 440, get a feel for what everythings gonna be like and end up getting 450r or yfz, and keeping it close to stock and just race like that. and if i ever get bored ill just trade or sell the 450 and snatch a 250f and try racing that.

you could always hybrid out the 400.

definitely go pick yourself up an ltr and don't expect a whole lot if you go to an neatv race with your 440 there are a lot of nice bikes and good riders in the c class this year

if your a good mx rider then you could podium at d34 but if mike skalaski is there ( #27 white ltr) first is a stretch he leads the neatv points, but go out have fun do what you can, you'll be hooked no doubt.

ya thats what its about, i wanna get a taste of the racing world. i could careless if i podium, although that would be cool as hell:p

i think i wanna race a few races at the end of this season, sell the quad at the end of the season, and get a 450 to build alittle (suspension work) over the winter and have it ready by next spring. id like to do production, or c class
