I just bought new front tires how hard is it to change them with out a bead breaker. I have never tried i always just pay to have them changed, but if it is pretty easy i would rather just try to do it my self.

Without a bead breaker is very hard. I bought mine from Harbor Freight, $40, and it works very well. I use it all the time. I use it for my car, truck, motorcycle, and my quad. Using soapy water also helps alot. The bead breaker with my quad is the hardest, I have to go around the tire a couple of times before I break the bead. There are some tricks to break the bead on quad tires without a bead breaker, but weren't very effective for me. Just be very careful, with or without a bead breaker, fingers are very exposed. With and without a bead breaker, experience and technique go a long way.

Just a helpful hint on breaking the bead, leave 2-3 lbs of air in the tire. It keeps the side wall from flexing as much and the bead pops right off with a bead breaker of course, and thats not enough air to reseat the bead.

well 3 year old tires that were on mine took 45 mins to take off with a bead breaker. we finally got fed up and cut the tire off and then cut the bead seperately. your oging to have a hell of a time with out one. go to your local auto shop and see if they will do it.

With the bead breaker and single beadlocks it took us about 10 minutes to get the tires off.

you can use a bumper jack or a hilift jack and put the base of the jack right on the bead and jack your car/truck up and pop the bead off.

Or you can put a board on the bead of the tire and drive up it with a car and it will pop right off.

Go to Wal-Mart...

For the $15 they charged me for my front tires, it was well worth it.

Definitely not easy, i ran over them with my truck to break the bead which took some time, now i just have to get the old tires off the rim and the new tires on the rim. My walmart would not do it and the closest atv dealer wants $50. Changing tires sucks.
