yeah......we are allowed unlimited doe kill here this year.....and 1 buck per season.....archery, early muzzleloader, rifle and late muzzleloader. i saw 3 bucks this morning....a 4 pointer...an 8 pointer and then this one came across the field....the range finder said 256 yards....he never took a step:cool:

WOW. I wish I was hunting where ever you guys are hunting. Man around here if we go out for a day we might be luck to see one.

I have seen only 18 this year and no one buck.

Take those does and ship them up here to Ny. Maybe the Bucks will follow.

the 4 and 8 were about 150 yards across the property line .....i was using a doe bleat and working them in closer when the 6 came across the ridge. the 8 was about the same size as the six from what i could tell. after almost 20 years of hunting ive learned not to be too greedy when nice bucks are concerned:p

nice bucks fellas.....im hunting the eastern shore next week and im hoping to do even better:eek:

Good job! I think non hunters see more deer and bucks then hunter ever will. I see tons of deer every year all year, I have almost hit 15+ with my 4x4, 3 with my sled, we have hit maybe 3 or 4 with my dads big international truck (no damage to our truck, nothing left of the deer either). I was thinking of just putting a spear on the 4x4 which would making hitting them less of a hazard to me. :) If you ever want to come up here during Deer season Kenny, I won't complain, I need someone to thin out their numbers before I really do cream one on.

Pappy
12-06-2002, 04:17 PM
rip.....about 3 years ago i smacked a doe at about 75 mph on the highway.....it did over $4500 in damage. it didnt kill the deer out right.....i got some .45 caliber revenge :grr

oh...and dont make an invite for me to hunt......cuz i will show up :devil so far i have solid invites for next season from pennslyvamia...ohio...new york....virginia and vermont....not to mention my friends from canada.:D

Nice deer fellas. Hunting and fishing are 2 of my favorite activities, although I haven't even gotten to my stand this year. I'll throw in a pic of the one I shot back in 00. I tried to score it in B&C, but failed miserably. The deer itself weighed over 250lbs and has an 18 3/4" inside spread. 10pts. Not too bad for this part of Texas.

12-06-2002, 04:40 PM

Not my cup of tea fella's, not into killin' stuff for fun. That's why I fish, so I can catch him another day. You can't un-shoot a dear.

I don't kill for fun:huh it's really not fun killing dear specially when it's below freezing and you gotta gut the sucker then drag the freakin thing outta the woods and you got snotcicles hanging off you chin you get it home and then ya gotta hang it in the garage and clean it and your hands are so frozen that you would have no clue whether or not you cut your thumb off, now does that sound like fun, not to me, but it's all worth it when the steak hits the plate, i kill for the meat, not my enjoyment of killing things i love to fish also, but i don't release them i keep them to eat them another day:D

thats how i was at 1st 2... i can see like me i shot my deer, squirrel, turkey etc and eat them...

every year for thanksgiving we deep fry a turkey that one of us kills... nothing like wild turkey...

i eat deer steaks just about every night or every other night for a snack... nothing like a good deer meat sandwhich... i don't just shoot them and let them lay... everything i kill i eat or someone i give it 2 eats...

First of all, I would hope you don't shoot a dear. That might piss Bubba off; that you shot his ole' lady. D Heh, that reminds me of a contest I heard on the radio.. The question asked was: "What animal do we often call our wives?" Of course the answer was dear, but some texas retard called up and said 'HIPPO'. For some reason, I bet he slept on the couch that night.

Glamis, to each his own. I don't hunt for the thrill of killing. I do it so just like everyone else, I can have a little bit of venison with my meal. Also, just like racing, looking through the 4x16 scope on my 22.250 gets my blood pumping.(I know the 22.250 isn't a good deer gun due to caliber size, but I can hit a quarter at 250 yards with it ;))

Here is a pic of a nice Iowa 10 point. I "unofficailly" scored him myself and came out to 151.75, but he had 4.5" of deductions. He had 21" main beams and 19" G2's. He was with 2 others his same size. He is at the taxidermist right now getting shoulder mounted and hopefully he will be "officially" scored sometime soon.

Pappy
12-16-2002, 03:10 PM
very nice burden...im jealous:p

the new state record was killed by a buddy of mine. the thing has a 24 inch spread...13 points and major mass. it has been green scored at 202 B&C and they figure it will finish at 201 or so. if i can get my hands on a pic i will post it. if not...keep an eye on the magazines...its bound to be there soon

Here is the soon-to-be new Iowa bow hunting record buck that was shot this year. It was shot about 20 min away from where I used to live. It hasn't been officially scored yet, because they have to wait atleast 2 months incase there is any shrinking that has occured.

Very nice deer blysster. That 2nd one you posted has a very good looking rack. I still haven't made it down to the stand once this year. I better get the move on. This time change really fouls things up for me though. By 5pm when I get off work, it's already almost dark.

edit: Pappy, that doe mount in the pic you posted earlier is fantastic. I think does look better than bucks hangin on the wall; sometimes.
