Not the prettiest but I hope it will hold now.....

We just drilled the frame bolt holes out a hair bigger and put a grade 8 bolt through them with a nut on the inside. The problem before this was I was shearing the top bolts..... I weigh 175....why does it keep breaking????

That could be the problem.... I know of a couple times on some hard flat landings where my hands slipped off the handlebars that I slammed down on the seat to keep from rolling off the back. Hopefully it doesnt happen anymore.

I flipped my 07 and the subframe bent like sh1t , there is no way that i can bring it back so i need a new one ,

the lower tabs on the frame were torn off , and the upper bent to the right , and they broke like yours when i tried to bent it back ..

what sucks the most is that the bike had 4.5 hours on the hour meter when it happened.

gonna put a stock one for the rest of the season but as soon as i have some free time i'll make myself a new one from chromoly, with some better tabs at the frame ofcourse.

Feel your pain on those flat landings as I ran myself over when I jumped interstate 99 by my house on a dare. Flew along way and hit hard on the landing and got knocked off. So under the nerfs and tires I went. Had major rash on my back and cheeks (not the ones on my face either). Rear tire tracks impaled into my back and neck. But chicks dig scars and I was the first to jump 99 around here. :macho

Yeah my pride, lol. The quad kept going and came to a stop with not a blem to it. Me on the other hand well it hurt so bad to sit on the throne. :eek2:

my subframe broke exactly as you pictured... only i was at the track ... i used a small drill bit... a 6 mm tap and a piece of angled metal to drill patterned holes and tap them to hold it together for now... no tig welder at the TRACK!!!!!! your subframe fix looks great... but you have to keep a close eye on welding the frame up there in the cast.... watch for more cracks....

my thoughts exactly on the frame weld. Cast is hard to stick to and im sure it will crack but if it does at least I have a starting point.

You should consider the gusset kit from Lonestar Racing. My frame was a mess and Pappy just welded it back together for me. It looks fantastic and definitely looks beefier. There is specifically new metal that wraps around the subframe so it is supported on both sides. I will take some pics tomorrow and post.
