what motors fit in a 400 ex, any motor, like a good crotch rocket motor or something, name all the different ones you know.

any engine will fit, it just depends on the fabricator..:cool:

When we get to the new house, my dad said he'll help me build an xr650r hybrid with my 400. I can't wait.

i meant a simple bolt in motor. if any what ones. and if there aint any what will fit with only slight mods. trx450 motor bolts up dont it?

no engine just "bolts" up. Any engine you'll have to make motor mounts for or customize the existing ones.

yz426f is supposedly the easiest to put in the 400ex. As well as yz450f and yz400f.

With a little bit more agrivation, the xr650L will fit in. The R is liquid cooled, and a little harder, but thats what im doing.

98 yz 400f. the f is fourstroke. its bored to a 426 with kibble white valves and valve springs yz450f decompression cam. fiarly fresh crank and clutches. mild port and polish. this thing rips. and the the tc shorty on it its real deep and throaty sounding.
