I have an 04 practice quad. I show this thing no mercy at all and its wide open about 90% percent of the time its runnin. But ive noticed when i run it hard like this it is blowing oil all over the swingarm. What causes this and how can i prevent it. I dont remember any of my previous 04s/05s doing this

Thats the same for mine. Oil is on the swingarm cuz its coming from a hose that goes into the airbox and is right beside the air filter..like the oil is getting on the air filter? And its going everywhere else, thats why its getting the swing arm dirty? Why is this?

Possibly blowby caused by worn rings. This would cause high pressure in the crankcase forcing oil out??

mines doing it 2 its not the rings... mines an o8 with less than 10 hours one it i figure its from over filling the oil i usually fill it close to a quart full

i have owned 4 2005 trx450r and they will get this problem from a few things.

1- if you over fill the engine side (sight glass side)
2- your crank cases are cracked across the crank bearings (very likely)
3- your right side crank seal is blown and its transfering oil to the other side which will fill up and come out of the breather.
4- you rings could be gone which is creating blow by like wykyd450r said.

my first thing to do is check your oil levels. than ride its for about 20-25 min than let it sit and see if its transfering oil. if it is than you have a cracked case or a bad crank seal. If its not doing that and just losing oil than your rings are bad and creating blow by.

Like i said i have had these problems to many times before i hope this can help you figure out your problem.

Another possible thing is. if you over oiled your air filter. it will run out and all over the place. i did that one time and oil was everywhere. thought i blew it up and i only had it for two days...just a thought
