I just bought a 310 kit for my 89 250r and went to install it and the head studs werent long enough to fit with the spacer. does anyone know where i can get longer studs thanks

Do you mean the base studs? you need to back them out I beleive 3 - 4 turns out, allen at CT can give you the exact.

Don't back them out, fix it the right way, call any engine shop that sells prox cylinders and get a stud kit. Last time I bought one they were around 20 bucks. ESR lists a spacer plate and stud kit on their website but I'm sure you can call them and get just the studs. Roost on!!:D

I just went through this myself and Allen did say you can back the studs out. If you look how much thread is left that goes into the case, I believe turning the studs out is ok. You should do at least 4 turns.

i would get to the hardware store and get 5-10 mm set screws.i would be skeptical of just backing them out.

ill look around i have the honda part number esr uses they come off a differant bike 1.37 each

honda part number 92900-100550B this is the kit that esr way over charges on

if I remember correct, they are the back studs for most year cr250's. I too had the hond part number also, when I bought a top end from lrd, they sent me a long stud kit and studs in honda bags.

well if the guy that makes the kit says back them out I think you will be fine, has worked for me for many years and know probs, just my 2 cents.

Put the right studs in your engine! Don't be a hack!
