My 300ex wont keep set to idel..when i adjust it it is ok for a day but the next day i have to adjust it again. what could be wrong? then today i adjusted it some more an a little piece broke in the carb so now even if i adjust the idel it does nothing. what piece would i need to order?

Sounds like you need to order the idle cable assembly. It includes the cable, nob, and threaded pin that goes into the carb that stops the slide from closing completely.

A simple circlip holds the assembly onto the bracket on the bottom of the carb.

It is a cheap fix. The cable on mine frayed out about a year ago, so I had to replace mine as well.
