what is optimum engine temp? 05 450r

so i just got the vortex x10 programmable cdi and i knew it was going to run hotter changing the curve but it changed more than i thought and my temp light is now coming on. i am going to order an inline temp gauge and want to know how hot is to hot.

If the temp light is coming on I would get either radiator shrouds or a pwr radiator or both.

i would imagine something has to be wrong to make the temp light come on, i would say contact the company and ask them

it is the vortex i've seen it with the dynatec also something to do with the signal. good idea with the inline temp guage i like to run around 185 to 200. 210 220 is getting hot make sure your fan turns on. i check my fan by starting my quad pulling the temperature sensor wire then grounding that wire to the engine.

i was asking about the engine temp. nothing is wrong. when you change the timing curve you are of course going to be running hotter. when you have a hotter spark this is likely going to happen as well. i am going to richen my main also which will help cool aswell. my fan is turning on i just reach down and feel and tell if its on or not.
