my brother in-laws 440 wont turn over.We thought it was the starter,so we replaced it-wasnt the problem.we replaced the starter clutch and its still making the same noise(starter spinning). the bike will pull start. The battery reads the correct volts. the silonoid clicks when we try to start it.If anyone has any ideas as where to look next I would greatly appreciate it

the battery may read the correct volts, but do you have a meter that tests it when it cranks over? i had the same problem with mine, and it was a battery.

sorry for the delay-I'm having computer issues.when we checked the battery while starting- the battery would go down to 8.4 volts.Does this point towards the battery?I'm going to borrow a friends batt. to check before buying a new one. Any suggestions would be great.Thank you

do you have a set of booster cables? If it starts with a boost it's your battery
