I need to put in new trans. bearings before puting my engine back together. Do they press in or do i use a mallet? I saw in the manual that they use a hammer? But im afraid of hurting the bearing or my case:eek: any help is appreciated!

Put all of your bearings in the freezer the night before install and when you're ready hit the cases with a little heat. Then pop the bearing in using a driver of some sort (I use sockets) make sure they're the same size and lightly tap it in. The cold bearing and warm case should make for an easy install.

You could do that, but then the entire case is hot. I usually just use a small propane torch to heat the immediate area, then install the bearings.
