Here's a video I put together of racing this weekend. I ran as hard as I could, cleared all the jumps and still couldn't get close.
Look at this I cracked my front number plate in half and didn't hit anyone, tell me I wasn't running hard. :D

ha those dam 450s hey? ha.. still did good though

Take it up to a 440! Probably still lose to a modded 450:(

As long as you had fun and gave it your best I would say JOB WELL DONE.

Ah we're thinking 426. Hoping to get Rich from Max RPM's to build it for me.

That might work too! I'm in the same boat, my 02 440 is plenty in the corners but on the straights it's hard to keep up with those 450's

Keep up the hard riding. HP is not everything.

I don't have so much of a problem on the straight as I got to the inside of someone and then I nailed it and I pulled away for a LTR. I just need the little bit extra outta the hole. They pull away off the line and then they don't hit half the jumps and I get stuck behind them as the leaders open their lead.

Maybe play with the gearing a bit?? I'm pretty sure 15/38 is stock on an 02. Maybe a 15/39 or 40? 14/38 was pretty low for me.

instead of going to a 426, keep your 416 and get a stroker crank.

Then it'll be a 440, run cooler than a BB 440, and have a lot of torque.

what kind of compression are you running and is your head ported? I dont think you will get what you are wanting by just going to a 426.

Yeah we are playing with gearing, 14/38 is what we have now, we're going to try 14/40 as soon as dennis kirk gets one in.
To tell the truth I have no idea what is done to the motor. All the guy said is 416 with cam. Really all I want is to freshen up the motor all new bearings and go through the transmission. Maybe just hone, piston and re-ring this bore size. I'm really not sure, waiting on Max RPM's to get back to me with what he thinks.
BTW thanks for the nice comment. It really cool you go out and hit all the jumps and tons of people notice you. :)
