I just built a 426ex with the following mods-

hmf full exhaust
modded lid (holes on top)
k'n airfilter
10:8 comp wiesco piston
stage 1 cam
175 main, 50 pilot, Needle clip 2nd from bottom

when my motor was stock with the following mods-

full hmf
modded lid
k'n airfilter

i was running 155 main, 42 pilot, stock set needle and it was ripping

any ideas of where i should go or what to try?? it just seems to be a turd (slow)..

Yeah, 175 seems a little rich for your mods. Try a 170. I also think a 50 pilot is a little much. You should have been able to stay at a 42 or maybe a 45 pilot.

I'd say your main is a little too big, and pilot is def. too big imo.

When I bored mine to a 426, I thought I would need to jet up too. I went from a 155 main, stock pilot, to a 165 main, stock pilot. After I got it all dialed in, I found that it started the best, and by far ran the best with the 155. Boring it didn't change my jetting a bit.
