ok everytime i look at a super moto i want one more and more

my question to you is, how much money did you have to dump into the bike to get it like it sits now?

did it start out as a stock drz400?

thanks in advance

he probably bought it like that. the rims and tires are $1g alone, to have it sitting like that there is probably $1500 worth of parts into it. Nice drz!

the bike is a drz400sm they come standard with lights and turnsingals...

however my bike has a wider rear tire, mini blinkers front and back, undertail kit, aftermarket head light, hand guards, graphics kit, renthal bars, wider seat, and a few other things here and there

yes... rims alone are 1g if you were to do the conversion... you need rims and hubs... they are excell's...

and insurance could be worse... im 18 with 5 points on my lisence cuz of that damn car and everything in my name with minimum its 320 a year

Are yopu riding it on the street since it has blinkers and lights. What kind of acceleration does it have? Should you make sure nothing is coming before you pull out on the road or will it get up and go.

these things will get up and go. theyre real fast. mine is pretty much stock besides a pipe and it will move, i could pop out infront of cars and go but people around here suck at driving and would probably hit me...first thing about riding bikes on the street is defensive driving.

i have to tell you though, riding these on the streets is a blast. i often find myself doing a wheelie down a street (never with other cars coming either way though)...this gives the sport a HORRIBLE name...when i see a hill on the road or a bit of a lip (like on a bridge or something) you'll definitely see me getting air.

i get a lot of looks riding the bike around...a lot of people in town dont even know what a dual sport is lol, theyre like OMG look at that kid riding illegally with a dirtbike

Tard.LOL Good luck trying to keep your liscense. Since I got my S440 I have not even jumped on the quad. Hooligan riding is a blast .find an industrial park and hit some loading docks.

I just picked up a wr250x, its pretty fun to ride to work a couple days a week. Would be great if they had offered a 450, (I'll be all over it when they do) but I can't complain at all. I am pretty surprised to see a 250 hit 90+mph, but better yet I'm getting about 65mpg's (yamaha's website claims 72). The money I'm saving in gas is paying the payment! Insurance is about $30 a month with all the limits maxed out (deductables are set between $100-250). Kinda cool to have a new toy that pays for itself.

I have an 04 KTM525. This bike hauls big time. I can wheelie no problem in any gear but 6th. If I ride it right, I get a little over 50 mpg. My insurance is 109 a YEAR!!! Wish my truck was that cheap... I'll try to post of some pics later.

Just wanted to see where you bought your after market lights at for your drz400sm. I've been looking around and can't find them anywhere. Thanks for your help.

i had a drz too....was a TON of fun until i rode a wheelie past a cop and got into a 5 cop chase around town...not fun lol. bike was sold the next day and i picked up a sportbike since i was the only dual sport out of a pack of 20 streetbikes. i love streetbikes but i sure do miss having the ability to pop off the road and launch off random urban obstacles. riding a dualsport around town is like riding on a big concrete motocross track lol!!
