I have an 05- 400 ex. Curtis sparks pipe, rev box, and jetted( 38 & 155). It ran strong, but I let it sit a few months with the gas on. I had problems starting, so I cleaned the carb.
Took the bike out and I could not give it more than 1/4 throttle without popping. The bike would not rev at all.
Cleaned the carb again. Found the jets clogged again. It runs better, but I still cannot open it up full throttle. As I was attempting to ride, it would almost kill. Then a few minutes later it would run a little better. One time I was able to open full throttle and it pulled good, but when I shut it down and let it sit, I could not give it over 1/2 throttle again. Is it possible that I keep getting some dirt through the carb? Other than the jets, what else should I clean. I used carb cleaner and compressed air. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Which jet would be clogged if I can't rev the bike. It starts fine and runs fine if I baby it. I just can't rev it!!!!

Sounds like the pilot jet.... but there are many jets/air bleeds to clean.
