I am thinking about getting the Spal 4" puller fan and was wondering where I should mount it and how to wire it. Thanks.

Buy a puller and mount it on the engine side of the oil cooler. Custom mounts will have to be fabbed to mount it up. The plastic cover between the engine and tank will probably have to trimmed for clearance.

I tapped into the hot wire coming out of the fuse block IIRC. This way I can run the fan with the key off, but the wire is still fuse protected.

ok thanks. So how does the fan turn on? Is there a switch or does it turn on when you turn the key on? Does anybody have any pics of it on the bike?

I used a toggle switch rated for 15amps. The fan only pulls 1.9amps, so a relay isn't needed.

Here are a couple pics. I only used 3 out of the 4 mounting holes, it's very solid.

This was my preliminary fitament. I had to move the cooler back up so the oil return line would line up correctly with the oil tank. It should give you a general idea though.
