View Full Version : PEOPLE WITH 440s.

guys with 440s. im making a 440 and it should be baCk together within a week or so and i am super exited but am not sure what kind of fuel to run i got the 12.5:1 compression and am wondering what octane about to run. for now i baught some VP Racing C14 racing fuel.. it is about 113 octane a little more i think is this about right? and what do you guys out there run.!?

I ran 110 with no problems with my 12.5:1 pison with no problems

sounds like your right on the money, 113 i might htink is a little high, are you racing? you get high octane in high compression engines to just to keep the efficiencey in each stroke. if your not racing then i think you could lower it down a few points. i run 93 octane in my 11:1 440 and it runs just fine.

ohh alright then disreguard my last coment lol, yeah that sounds like a good fuel to be running with that kit. sounds like your guna have a nice machine. what stage cam are you going to run?

i already have stage 2 in it.. i no without the 440 kit it helped out alot i am only 15 so i am not as strong asn some of you guys but i could only pull that quad up in 2nd before the cam and when it was in i could pull up 4th like nothing and 5th if i bounced it so it gained more top end power if you no what i mean.

C14 will make great power over Torco110 or C12.

VP113 or Q16 will make even more power but you have to increase jetting for a 5% fuel flow increase.

If others are saying pump gas work great, a small step up WITH added power would be VP MS109 unleaded. 103 octane and also needs a jetting increase to make more power.

I'm using VP113 with a 175-180 jet. stock carb.

ok so im running a dyno jet and i through in a 170 and i herd there bigger then a stock jet 170 so am i pretty much alright for the race gas? i have the needle in the middle clip. and dont got a pilot jet yet but will most likley soon.
