DO NOT REMOVE THE PACKING FROM YOUR PIPE!!! You will loose power, loose your piston rings and annoy everyone within a 5 mile radius. You however can remove the baffle and install the cherry bomb. Both of my buddies have a stock ltr with a cherry bomb installed and one buddies runs great with the air box lid off and the other cuts out and looses power. The cherry bomb will not harm your motor. All the cherry bomb does is serve the purpose of a jet in a carberator.

I would assume since the CB is designed to be used with no lid, that if you ran it with the lid you would be a little rich.

yeah no lid. theres a company online somewhere that makes a lid w/ an outerwear center. may pull enough air and keep the dirt and water out.

I just had the cherry Bomb put on my 08 LTR and took the Baffle out + removed the air box lid. I raced this weekend against 3 Banshee's, 1 fairly modded & a Predator that's jetted + a 07 Honda 450R that has had the HCR kit done with a header, jetting, air box removed & so forth. The 450R was dyno'd at 45 HP last week. I outran them all every run. So, I would say the Cherry Bomb works just fine.

I also added a new BMC Air Filter. I like it...
