well I dont have a 460, but I do have a 440 stroker. You dont need a diff oil pump, but a better oil cooler would be a good thing to look at. To get a 460, you get the same crank as me, a +4mm and a 89mm stroker piston where as I have a 87mm. You dont have to get a stroker piston if you get your stock crank stroked by someon like powroll. They install a short rod to make up for the different stroke so that you can also use any piston made for the 400ex. I would also say go with the stage 3 cam. The stage 2 didnt breath enough for my 440 even. Also a better carb like a 450 carb or fcr ('06 and up 450s have fcr carbs) and a good port job on the head and a good full exhaust like a sparks x-6. Im not really sure what you have done, but to make the 460 run the way it should, its gonna take some money. The 440 will rev quicker than the 460 and be more reliable, but either one is very much worth it IMO. Oh and i forgot to mention. If you just want the most you can do to a 400, FST makes a 500 stroker kit.

Thanks drew it was nice to hear from someone that has more nolige than me in this area. I am trying to pretty much make it a dune bike, not as much for the drag butt, for the horsepower to get up an move. Like they say in the dunes " no substitue for horse power" well, fellows always ready for more Ideas??

I'm currently building a 460 as well I got a kit from www.lukesracing.com it comes with hotrods stroked crank, CP piston, advanced sleeve and all the gaskets and seals you need.
top quality parts very well priced and they seem very good to deal with.
Cant wait to see how she runs!

I got my 460 kit from trinity racing, and i have been drag racing it for 3 seasons now with no issues. i have come close a few times to beating an R1 banshee hybrid. Not bragging, nor do i think it's the fastest thing out there. but it was worth all the time and money!

You can talk to chad about his 502ex.

I would defnitely add a set of GT Thunder heavy duty head studs to your list, whatever you decide to do.
