hey guys i found that the Champ P7013 oil filter is the same as honda`s oem and you can buy a whole box of 12 for around 10 bucks that will save you about 40 dollars in the long run, plus every filter comes with a new o-ring for your oil filter cover. and you can change your oil and not have to worry bout not having a filter!!! hope this info helps some people

Thanks, but I'll stick with Fram filters. Or an oem filter. I have seen first hand what the quality of Champ filters are.

Really, is 8 to 10 bucks too much for an oil change?

Anything to make oil changes cheaper would be good. Think about this for a sec.....

I own a 99 Dodge Ram Cummins. It holds 12 quarts of oil. My quad holds 3 quarts.

Now, I changed my oil in my truck last weekend. 3 gallons of Rottella and one oil filter cost me $23.12

How much does it cost to change the oil in my quad? Nearly the same......:huh :grr

I also work at a dealership. We use champ filters on used cars and any thing not a honda or acura. Just last week a champ filter failed on a Chevy suburban that our hourly kid changed the oil on. Cost the dealership a new motor, and a customer:eek:

Sounds like the Champ is a chump.

ok, there good filterts so what one time it happened , you cant say that you have never bought parts or anything else for that matter that you had to return because of a flaw or blemish. i`ve never had problems using champ so i will continue using them as for flamers, nobody cares

You can pick up an STP filter part number SMO-15 at your local AutoZone for about $4. I have used them on the EX for the past 3 years.

i use emgo filers. Im cheap, so id rather spend 2.99 for a filter than not change it at all. no problems with emgo with fitting or anything like that.

I mean everyone has their preferred brand of oils, oil filters, air filters, clutches, tires, fuel, and the list goes on and on ! Kinda comical eh ! For those of you who like to compare specs, here's another spec for ya:

http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g385.pdf

There's also a brochure for motorcycle / ATV's with specs in it too:

http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g391.pdf

Anytime any of you have questions you would like to pose directly to me, feel free to email me at: lubes4u@myexcel.com

I realize some folks don't care what quality of oil or filtration they use because they've been told it doesn't matter if they just change it often enough; it's not really a big deal to me what they use, I just like to share these specs sheets with you all so you have something to measure what you are using against.

If any of you are having oil analysis performed, I would love to have copies of them; I need analysis for the following oils: Klotz, Bean Oil, and Honda GF-4. Thanks.
