I bought an 04 used and i went to change the oil and its is stripped from the previous owner. when i went to put the bolt back in it kept spinning and would not get tight. and i was wondering what the best thing would be to fix it. have it rethreaded or what

I tapped mine, and used the next bigger size bolt. Just make sure you don't use a bolt any longer than the stock bolt.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is what we do to fix the 04/05 drain plug. This happens a lot more than you think

idk about you guys but i always feel alot more confident when i tap a bolt hole. I know its strong cause its not a threaded insert or anything. I stripped my 300ex oil bolt, threw a self tapper through there, i could crank it down as hard as i wanted.

what size of bolt and tap did you use when went up a size? i think mine might be stripped.

we tapped the drain bolt on my 300ex and it worked great, just try ur hardest to not get any metal shavings in motor. good luck
