Since your all ready on a Honda and you want to keep that feel, at your weight and size I would go ahead and move up to 400ex or 450r. But I will tell you this. I think if you get a 400ex (which is a good fast dependable all out fun machine) I think you would have wished you would went ahead with the 450 after a while. I know this because Ive all ready been through it. Im now on the 450. Very happy with it.

yeah. i would get a 450r, they are a great machine and you are at a good weight to handle it... so pretty much what jkiserracing said.

i was in the same sittuation you were. i had a 400ex that i built from the ground up for mx. i dont care what the ex guys say they will not compare to the 450. i made the switch to my new r and have been glad i did ever since.

I too was on a 300ex and was in your situation. I decided to go with the 400ex because i couldnt wait any longer to find a 450.

Well lets just say a full re-build on the 400ex and 3months and I got rid of it to get a 450, I wish i would have just got the 450 in the first place but oh well. Get the 450!

go for the r

a year and a half ago i went from a stock 300ex to a highly modded 300,i realized it still wasnt cutting it, i new a friend was selling a 400ex, so i rode it, well my 300 could keep up wiith this 400, and the 300 handled better, so i didnt buy it and kept saving, later on i tried a 450r and wow, its now settin in my garage and thats the best thing i have ever bought. so then is my experience and it sounds like i was in the same situation as u

every one of you guys are right. get the 450r. it a very good machine and is dependable and with the stock suspension you will still be doing the jumps without the bottoming out you are doing with your 300ex. you will be kicking yourself every day if you dont. not trying to knock the 400ex but you can get so much more out of the 450r if you want it:devil:
