02 400ex

i got an 02 400ex from my sisters friend for 500 bucks. ive been riden since i was like 6. so im pretty used to ridein. i was thinkin bout puttin a JE 426 piston with 10.8:1 comp so i dont have to run race gas, i was also gunna get a hotcams stage one cam, 450 cam chain and also get a mild port and polish. i
Im pretty much gunna be riden trails and sum times dunes and i was just wondering if that would be a good setup and wat would be the best gearin i should run???

You dont have to go to a 426 to get nice gains. I would say do a 406 or 416. As far as the cam, I personally would get the stage 2, but either one will give you all around gains. The stage 2 would just give you a little better top end gains than the stage 1. Im not too sure about what gearing you should run since I dont ride many trails.
