drr 50, new racer with some questions

Have a 2008 Drr 50 LC, dealer has overflow bottle mounted up off of the radiator instead of on the back of the bike, does anyone see any issues with this? I am not sure if it needs to be higher than the radiator or not, where it is it is not. Also looking at getting some snow hogs for MX racing, do more people run the 18" or 16"? Looking at putting a UNI filter on, do you normally have to re-jet? Have the sunworld larger carb, plastic tube not metal. Thanks in advance for input.

Most run 18" Snow Hogs (really only 17")


Uni filter is a good idea.(with outerwear)

Needle clip middle or one lower
42 pilot.


If your unit is sluggish off the line it may be due to the gearing...try a 17t front sprocket (if you have the high speed gears in the tranny).

The carb is a bit big for a stock 50 too...

I tried both sizes of snow hogs early on in the season and stuck with the 16's They are a little shorter and a little lighter. Our quad seemed to launch better with the smaller tire.
