My New Toy

I bought this bike from a buddy, and the only concern i have with this bike is the chattering that the motor makes. I talked to a well established and trusted ATV mechanic here in town (before i bought the bike) and he says it is normal on these YFZ quads to chatter like that because of the straight cut gears they use. Does this sound right to all of you YFZ owners.

I have a friebd with an 05 that is pretty noisy. It make more noise than my honda, he took it to the dealer and they said it sounds normal to them, inspected the valve lash and said "run it!"

mine makes funny noises, but I just figured it was something to do with the DOHC and the cam chains, etc.

Mine dose the same thing. Thats the only complaint I got when my buddies rode my quad.

take the valve cover off and tighten down the rockers...it shouldn't knock.

thats a really sharp yfz, and i have an 08 and it makes little noises so u should be fine

Its a DOHC motor it does not have rockers. Are you talking about adjusting the valves? That will involve changing the shims, not tightening anything.
