ok heres the story i got a honda 450r theres antifreeze mixing in the motor...i put a 500cc big bore on it and i put all new 1oomm gaskets on it..base and head gasket..i put a compresion test in the cylinder an its good..i just put a mechanical bearing in the water pump and if that was the case there would be antifreeze in the transmission but there isnt no antifreeze in the tranny..so i take it that its in the bottom end ?? runs really good..good compression.. but just test rides..any help where the problem is..??

I would guess a head gasket leak. Did you torque the head and cylinder?? Was this a new cylinder or a sleeve job?

could be a warped head, bad gasket, loose head gasket. could be many things. just hope to god its not a warped head ;)

im guessing that the bore is a 100mm, but i normally see that 500 kits are 99mm, are you sure that your using the right gaskets?

well i got the kit off ebay an it all started cuz the guy off ebay gave me a dirtbike gasket and i found that out when i put it toghter an seen what was goin on..WRONG the piston is 99mm it says it on the wiseco box got really good compression and i had a guy do it for me outside of town at his house.. the kit was a 500cc 99mm kit i put the gasket on and everything an he torked down to 20psi an he said that was the stock psi sooo i messed around w the gaskets an i called weisco an they gave me a special gasket and it didnt work so i went w cometic gaskets and i told him what kit i got an they sent me one.. i double checked the psi, i called local motorcyle/atv shop and i told what my situation is and i got two different storys about what tork pound it should be..my guy put the cometic specail gasket in and torked it to 48 tork lbs. an it still mixed anitifreeze in the oil.. i dont know if its something in the bottom end? any seals inside the case do that? besides the mechanical seal inside the water pump, i replaced that..if it was the head gasket shouldnt be smokin to? mine isnt smokin..i have a 100mm gasket on a 99mm cylinder should that be a problem? i got told no..

by the way i got the cylinder compressed and no warped head..an it is a new sleeve but stock clyinder..puttin alot of money in it just to get it runnin..sad. help me out ..

Thank You

Well you aint gotta act like a smarta** about it. just because you just bored it or whatever doesnt mean it isnt the top end. 20 PSI... i assume thats pounds per square inch. What are you putting air in the tire or something. Most people call it inch pounds but whatever. 20 inch pounds is like a little more than finger tight. Not even 2 ft/lbs. Most of the bolts on the top end of my LTR are between 7-10 ft/lbs. Just depends on which bolts. Maybe you caused your own problem.

Torque is 40 ft.lbs- most likely problem is why it was sold on Ebay-
99mm bores usually have porosity holes after boring that big!-very common to only show up after testing!

Some of the leaks only show up after warming up!-Also make sure you use a factory base gasket- can leak at the dowel where the coolant flows up into the cylinder!

How about the seals in the water pump?? could be leaking internally
