i went out riding today and for some reason i dont have any back brakes at all. the pads are fine. the fluid level is fine. i bled them just to make sure there were no air bubbles in there. the peddel has no feel at all. does anyone have any ideas? master cylinder??? may be making a trip back to the dealer.

thats funny... I have the same problem right now. I bled them for like an hour and never got anything. A friend of mine told me that I might have to take the master cylinder apart and clean it, and make sure everything is together properly. I'm to afraid to take it apart though, so I'm going to take it to him.

you need to make a very small hole in the center of the rubber parts of the fluid reservoir. (the parts just under the cap)

This will solve the problem

took it to the dealer. it was not the master cylinder. they said it was air bound. put a slit in the diaphram and bled the line, and it works fine. they placed a call to can am and that is what the fix is now. so if you are having problems try doing that first. save some moolla moolla

The best way to bleed them is to unbolt the caliper and insert a brake disk that you have laying around or something else similar between the pads and bled it with the caliper laying on its side with the bleeder facing up. I had the same problem, but mine wouldnt bleed without doing this and ever since I did that, I never had a problem and the pedel is so touchy now and is not spongie at all.

no. it is not the master cylinder. there needs to be a slit in the diaphram under the resivor cap. they cut it then bleed and its fine. no problems at all with the master cylinder. there is a recall out because of this problem.

Just take your cap off your rear brake fluid reservoir. Pull the little rubber diaphram out of it and make a small slit in it. Put the rubber diaphram back in the cap and bleed the brakes. It'll probably fix your problem.... I hope

Bleed them with one of those bleeding guns. It works really well. I had the same problem. According to the motoworks team, slitting the black rubber peice works too. You will use alot of brake fluid.
