Are these kits any good? Do they hold up well in the long run? there are a lot of them out there for cheap. Like 180 dollars on ebay. My sleeve is scarred I need to bore or resleeve anyway.

I would get a 440 kit from Marcums. My friend has one from them and it is great. Call Terry up and he will get ya want ya need/want.
Yeah its good. I'll let someone answer this but what really makes it run bad is how its done and who does it. Alot of people have trouble with them because they don't do it right. I have heard alot of problems with people doing it yourself. If your doing it make sure you know what the he!! your doing. (Some good mechanic told me about this)

This is all new to me, so bare with me for a sec.
How does one mess up a 440 kit? In the kit, there is basically a piston, sleeve and some pretty stickers. What is there to mess up.
Is everyone refering to the way the sleeve is installed? If so, does it take a special fourstroke tuner to have one installed properly? A machine shop should be able to do this work correctly......
Need more input...those of you having problems, let me know what they are exactly!!
