I was wondering if the LRD copmplete is a good pipe. Hows the power increase. I already have a white bros. Is the LRD pipe complete pipe alot better than the white bros e-series.

Whats kinda of pipe is it. ( topend, mid, bottom)

Its awsome...I put it on my stock EX, and it really woke it up...I'm a happy customer...as a matter of fact, I am going to let them do my motor work as well when the time comes. It's pretty safe to say its better than the WB Slip On :blah

BTW, its a mid-top pipe.

I don't know if this pipe is different than the one they had last year, but a buddy who rides a 440ex had it. The thing is LOUD!!!! Like -no question you are over the sound limit- loud. At the Oregon dunes there is a 93db limit for Oregon State Park land and 99db for federal, and everytime the sound cops came we had to haul *** outta there. It did put out good power, although that could have had something to do with the $2200 in LRD work on the motor. haha.

I was looking at it yesterday, and it look like the quailty was not as good as my white bros. I know a engine builders pipe should be better than the white bros pipe.
Should I get the chrome on or the ceramic coated one. The chrome one is cheaper.

With as hot as 4 stroke headpipes get i'd go with ceramic coating. Thats all we run on our race car headers. The guy I know with the LRD 440 bike got the chrome one...they dont stay that shiny for long. Lots of bluing occurs after you run it a while.

I think the new one with the cool looking Black/Carbon Fiber shell is sweet Lookin.

If i was going for looks i would get that. Otherwise i say keep saving and get the Sparks X-6.(It sounds better too.) I think it is a better Mx pipe. I sorta assumed that is what you were doing .

go with ceramic its a thousand times better than wb e-series, its the best pipe i have every tested. the people from lrd are also very nice the will answer any questions you need. i talk to mike and butch we asked them who was the best engine builder, they told us look at gncc they have one the last 17 championships on lrd motors.cant remeber how many gnc but is is up there. the pipes are also made very well. if you have any questions calk Butch at 503-885-9200 or 503-702-4097 fax 503-885-2122 butch@lrdperformance.com lrd performance (http://www.lrdperformance.com)

Those comparing the LRD and E series, they dont compare well cause they are diff designs of pipes.

First the LRD is a pipe made by an engine builder and the the E series is made by a pipe mfg for a sales company.

The LRD is a free flow reverse megaphone canister w/o spark arrestor (and yes there not quite)

The E Series is a disc type (where you can adjust exhaust flow by adding or removing discs) is spark arrested and can be quite or loud.

From what I have seen helping to jet and install both of these pipes the LRD will deff flow more but thats where the extra sound comes from also. The best part of any disc sys pipe (WB, FMF, Supertrapp etc) is you can adjust how it flows and sounds, but there are limitations and even with ZERO discs some may not flow as well.

Looks are a personal thing but I do think the LRD with the black canister silencer is one of the better looking ones, and the coated header pipe is the only way to go.

you dont need to worry about the sound if you race.

From experience I wouldn't get it chromed. It does blue up in a short time!! Comparing to the new style, its sounds a little bit more throaty!!! not much, just a little bit!! Also, I'm pretty sure the pipe is more of a low end pipe than top end. But, it seems like the WB and Sparks are still on top for overall hp thats it puts out, there getting closer though!! Overall, LRD has great service and is getting better on quality but you can also see that the price is going up too!! But, I guess what do you expect???
