K the suzuki has the cherry bomb, THe KTM has the pink wire that you cut to get full race map. What does the KFX has to improve the stock performence with the airbox lid removed. I'm hearing from the guys I race with that the KFX is under powered. I want to get one but dont want to spend money to make the engine competitive. How about some input Thanks in advance

the kfx isnt underpowered at all. Ive rode a piped LTR and some small engine work in a trx and they are all very close. i would say stock for stock they all feel the same. i like the way the kfx is stock cause it has that torqueyness to it compared to the honda and the ltr which dont have AS MUCH low end.

well, the CAN-AM is the quad with the pink wire, NOT KTM. the KFX's are right with the rest of them in bottom end, but a little slower up top. a front sprocket change gets that solved in a jiffy.

In my opinion just save up a little and get an intake, power commander, and exhaust. Heres a pic of my intake below, you can't see my power commander but its zip tied underneath the tool kit.

I have a 08 kfx450r with Trinity exhaust system,Trinity fuel commander, fuel atv airbox, wich it run pretty good, then I decided i needed to go faster so I sent my head to alba, big mistake, they ported the head added high comp. piston with some web cams, I now go slower!!!! I've been fighting this for a few months evan bought a wideband 02 sensor, with the Trinty fuel controller the afr is 11.5 at full throttle running down the road. So I unplugged the Trinity fuel controller and run it stock and it runs the same on top(11.5) at the bottom it run leaner unplugged (12.7)....any ideas whats wrong.

get a powercommander. the trinity fuel controller isnt giving enough fuel for all those mods you have. get a powercommander and get it dyno tuned and youll be looking at a monster.

i would like the kfx if it could get the power to the gorund easier everytime i ride it even if i tap the throtle all i feel is sliding and the tires spinning i neve feel the traction and bite i get from my ltr.

yea drew if you would actually be used to it you would love that. on the track you complain of no low end. the kfx with the stock gearing is amazing. i can stay in 3rd the entire time. only on the sand track do i have to click 4th and thats for a few jumps after the straight aways.

plus i barely have to use the clutch in the turns

At 12.7 he is still getting too much fuel. I dont know if a PC3 will reduce fuel from a stock map? I got on my Renegade but I have to add fuel in to stock not take it out. My DS runs perfect with just the wire cut.
