I'm waiting to hear the news aswell. Last year Honda released everything at that convention i remember because I was getting all this news and posting it on here because I knew someone that was there.

I don't understand these guys. They haven't really changed anything from the 1st few years. Sure they change plastic and put the "awesome" colored tank on there for 08'. I think they should worry about making a frame that doesn't break. Just my opinion. To each their own though. :p

The 04/05 are quite different than the 06+ R's.

I've been told by someone I trust to sell everything I have to buy an 09 Honda, because it will be THEE quad.

He also rides for a different company than Honda btw. ;)

Yeah you are right they changed stuff in the motor and I've read that they made the swing-arm a bit longer. But the 06-08 are pretty much the same right?
After you said that I want to see one. Although I'd never buy another honda. :macho

I`d buy another Honda.....I have had numerous honda and have loved every one of them. I buy NEW and mod as desired....and run them like I hate them....no complaints

I see you have a 400ex. I dont think you'll ever find anything as durable/relaible.

Yeah that's true. I've herd horror stories about how much it costs to rebuilt a liquid cooled engine.

I can't believe someone that doesn't even have a Honda would have access to any information on the 09. Honda keeps everything pretty tight liped.

Its not so much the liquid cooling that is the issue. Its the fact that the 450's ( and other brands/sizes that use the newer technology )are more performance oriented. They are built using more technology to get the performance gains, and are meant to be raced. They require more maintainance than the older style engines, such as the 400ex, warrior, etc. I have owned a few 400ex's. After the first, I switched to a z400. The z was a better quad IMO, but just not as tough. After the Z, I went to a 250r, and to another 400ex. Finally went with a 450r, but soon sold it and got another 400ex yet again. I wasnt happy, so I went back to another 450r. I am really wondering if I'll ever find what I want. :p

Yeah that's true and its a lot about how you treat it. If you just go out and beat the f*** out of it and don't ever do any maintenance on it I could see how they wouldn't be reliable.

Yeah thats not true at all my 450r is extremely well taken care of and ive rebuilt it twice. And it needs a 3rd rebuild.(main cases are shot and so is the cylinder/crank)

I have another engine off of ebay and its still going strong after a year. Certain engines blow and some are great. Its just a luck of the draw.

I wont get another honda 450r unless its equal to or better than the ktm450sx. I HIGHLY doubt it will be anything close so when the funds are available ill be on a ktm450sx.

^ That would be the only 450 I would bother with. And if I did get one I'd go for that, but I don't see the money tree dumping $12,000 into my basket so I'll stick with what I got. :D
