Since the next few months will see the release of the 2009 models, whats your thoughts on the 2008 Sport quad of the year?

I'm going with the LTR. Its the most up-to-date and zuki did something the rest of the companies never did. They made a true race ready quad. Or atleast closer than anyone else.:blah:

DS450 by far, that company came out with the most powerful and lightest bike on the market. Amazing innovations all over with the weldless frame, spider hub design axle, rotax 2 spark plug motor, efi, the list goes on.

I like the 700xx because its completely different having IRS and being Honda's big bore sport quad. Its still getting there more items for mods are slowly but surely coming. Hopefully they make a few revisions I would like to see a straight axle and some nice rezzie shocks up front but none the less the 700xx has been my attention grabber because its new and unfamiliar.

If it had a straight axle you'd loose the IRS. Correct?

Im gonna go with the KTM 450.

I like the fact that KTM was able to take regular top 10 finishing racers, bring them onto their 450 and make them regulars on the podium. It really means alot more than keeping someone who is always on the podium, right where he always was.

I'm surprised the zuki has any votes. What if you want to ride it in the woods? I don't think trying to make a factory race ready mx fourwheeler is very practical. I voted KTM.

Overheating, bent axles, can't finish a GNCC, the list goes on...:p

I voted KTM.

for '08 im gonna say KFX, ever since this bike has came out (ill admit kawi picked a bad time to release it right between the ds and ktm) and it has been overshadowed by other companies doing other things, media and people alike dont want to think kawi has its own legit machine theyre still waiting for the green and orange ltrs roll out but this is it, no its not perfect and the ktm is a pretty popular bike (if nothing big comes out i say let it have '09) no kawi isnt the first to have efi, alum frame, bulletproof motor ect., but i will say they may be the first to get it right and thats why im voting it for 08....JMO

What part of it did they get right? They have the most uncomfortable seat I've ever sat on in my life. They're very underpowered stock vs stock compared to others, and their frames are breaking.

I still think KTM takes this. They did a lot for our sport with that quad. Now every other manufacturer needs to try and keep up with them!

i voted KTM, adjustable rear axle. OHLINS shock straight form the factory. hell the the front end alone is 1000+, ktm has definatly set the bar for the other brands.

08 LTR. From in two years (06-08) it has changed more than the YFZ or the 450R since they've been on the market. Race ready and yes it can race GNCC's with the stock width. I've been doing harescrambles all this year without making it anymore narrow.

yeah i agree about the ktm im not pullin the ktm crowds chain or anything, someday when i rob a bank or win the lotto (whichever happens first) ill just buy one and see how nice they are, now for the kfx, yes the seat is a little hard refer but to my post i remember pointing out its not perfect, stock vs. stock its equal to the other jap offerings, it just gets lowballed because everyones still got the "old kawasaki" mentality, and frames breaking?... makes for a good "them things is junk so buy what i have" story, but no...

I voted KTM. The DS should of got everyones votes, with all the hype, but I've seen only one on any tracks.

I rode a DS450 this past weekend and the i just had a few issues with it. I didnt get to take it out on the motocross track though but im sure that if i did i would have liked it much more.

While the price point is high, the KTM is a great value if you do any racing. Best quad I've ever owned, by far.

this isnt fair, because the YFZ is supposed to be totally revamped, they only put the 09 as it is until they finish it

This is a poll for the 08 quad of the year, until all the 09 are released. Then, I think there will prolly be another poll.

Fair? How is a magazine printing a quad of a year on a model that hasnt even been out a year fair to riders looking to buy one:scary: This is for 2008 models, that have a track record in racinga nd riding in general by actual people that ride them!

Oh, sorry, didnt realize this was for the 08 models:p

I voted KTM anyway. That was a big breakthrough for them
