will running a heavy weight oil help lower the heat on a 440 with stage 2 cam and 450 carb? if so what is a good brand to run. any ideas?

I've always run Honda GN4 20W-50 seems to cool it a little more but i have no actual facts to prove it.

I noticed a nice change switching to 20w-50 from 10w-40. Now I run 15w-50 synthetic and it runs a little cooler than the 20w-50 because its synthetic.

i would go with a 20w-50 synthetic. i use amsoil. it is a little pricey but it is the best that you can get. their website has alot of info on it. check out the motorcycle white paper. http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g2156.pdf

I would agree that a synthetic oil will transfer heat better.

so....a 20w50 synthetic will cool even more, as opposed to just a 20w50 petroleum based oil.
