oil leaking outlaw

I have an 07 outlaw 90 that is leaking oil. The dealership says he thinks it is coming from the stator cover gasket. Anyone else ever had this problem?
The gasket is only @ $5, but the thing doesn't even have 30hrs.

Does it leak all the time or just when the bike is running? if so, does it subside after the bike has shut down ?

It leaks just sitting in the garage. Its not that much of a leak, but being as new as it is, it is enough. I don't notice it when we ride, but I'm sure it leaks then too. After sitting over nite it may be a drop or two.
I didn't think that there should even be oil in with the stator. Is that normal?
