air/fuel screw

how do you know how many turns out? i have jetting probs as well. have 06 trx 450er mods are HRC kit yoshimura rs7 slip on pipe,pro filterair filter,no air box lid. With no air box lid do you screw in a/f screw or out, how do you know the right mix .i have a lot to learn new to bikes.

Turning it out richens it and turning it in will lean it out from idle to 1/8 throttle.
