This is a new product From 65 Designs.
This Product fits The KFX, and has been designed to help eliminate issues with the chain popping off a finding its way through those pricy engine cases. The Guide is constructed of anodized 6061 aluminum and high temp / high impact polyethylene, bolted together using stainless steel flush mount bolts with nylock nuts. The Guide bolts to OEM skid plate mounts on the chain side of the swingarm using an inline mounting configuration to ensure maximum shear resistance on the fasteners. Secured with two 8mm bolts recessed in the mounting bracket, keeping the bolts out of the way of rocks, sticks, and exc. With its split guide design routing the chain is nearly effortless, even if there is no master-link.

They are actually 129.95

A small price to pay for a quality part.
Also a heck of alot cheaper than a new case

have you acutlly done real testing on it. That aluminum bracket does not look strong at all. For 129.99 bucks id like to feel a bit more confidence then that. And do these really help a chain cracking a case. not really. chain breaks it will still crack case. Chain falls of sprocket. can still bunch up by front sprocket enough to crank it. If you got a chain thats adjusted right there no problems. Sorry if it seems im bashing. Not trying. Just dont make much scenes to me.

walshyfz86 you obviosly need to get out more, that is a deal compared to what baldwin gets for his, there are not alot of choices for chain guides fot the kfx so based on that it sounds like he's being very fair with his prices and not taking advantage of riders. The kawi has to run an extreme amount of chain free play compared to any other bike so a chain guide that works is worth whatever you have to pay because maybe not today but some day soon you will be replacing cases

Well thank you for clearing it up then. To each his own.

Its cool bud, i never take this sort of thing as bashing, and yes actually i did quite a bit of testing mainly with Hetrick racings factory kawasaki team, along with numerous other riders. Joel Hetrick actually just put one of our guides on his KFX due to its performance.

Yeah i do but the pics i have are from on of the prototypes that i put on Hetrick rider Tim Dettlings bike. The part is all raw aluminum, nothing is anodized yet and the bike is filthy. i can pm them to you if you like?

Yeah some dude built it. He's pretty good with a welder, and a machine on the dance floor.

Well any man that can build a hybrid from scratch has got to be able to cut a rug if he wants to survive in this world

From the looks of it it doesn't seem like it would work with any kind of swingarm skid plate. Maybe just the angle of the pics?

If you could send me some pics of your set up i can check it out and give you a more accurate answer. Also if your local i could probably modify what you have and get a guide on there somehow with your exsisting skid plate if you were interested

have any problems with it hitting ground? seems about a inch lower then the sprocket? i no its up a bit further but seems like it can very easily hit?

We have not had a single issue with ground clearance on this chain guide. I was concerned with that aswell when i was designing it but after a run through of the rear suspension my worries were eliminated. Due to the swingarm pivot location coupled with the linkage design it keeps the underside of the swingarm stays high enough away from the ground for this system to perform properly.

walshyfz86:

i tested this chain guide for quite some time before it actually went into production. that's my "filthy" kfx in the pics lol..... i rode on some really rough tracks, many of them here in ohio are very rocky tracks, and many with deep ruts. i never had an issue with it hitting the ground. it gets dirty so im sure in some ruts it may hit just like a sprocket or any chain guide can, but its definately strong enough that it never bent, or got banged up.

I do know that some people liked this one over the baldwin and others similar because the bracket doesnt run across the swingarm which could give it more of a to catch on something and get ripped off the bike
