So I know there are many different pipes out there, each with a purpose. I have a couple questions still as I am new to 2 strokes.
1. Anyone used/using a pro-circuit pipe silencer combo?
2. I ride woods/mess around on open land most of the time so from what I have read seems like a "mid-range" pipe is what I need. What are some good mid-range pipes that won't leave me wanting alot more on the top end?

Thanks for the help any advice would be awesome

how is the bike setup now? does it have any porting? if so, which? what carb and size? what exhaust is on there now? where does the power come in at present?

The pipe is the stock pipe. My understanding is the bore is now a 265 (according to the guy I bought it from) The carb is also the stock carb.

the idea is to match everything up in the power range that you ride most of or are wanting power at.

for example: if you add a midrange pipe to a stock porting and stock"small" bore carb. dont expect very much change. the carb will cancel out. as well as the porting.

ideally you need to match things.

Thats not entirely true,i have seen R's with stock porting really wake up with just the addition of a pipe and filter.Stock they were choke;)

this is true but to fully reep the benefit of power its best to match components.

find a sparks mx pipe or a paul turner "89 race" pipe. then get a 38mm air stryker, remove the airbox lid, and toss a rad valve in there.

ESR 6 pipes will not disappoint you on top end or in the midrange either.

an ol'skool dyno port will not dissapoint either, those pipes are just plain ignorant for outright peak hp:macho

This is a pretty interesting combo that was run on GT Thunder's dyno. All bolt on stuff. There's a bunch of pipe comparisons under "old testing" on the GT Thunder website.

great info there rich. my setup is similar in comparison. lots of torque from low to mid and still pulls up high.

I'd like to see the torque curve on that dyno run. Not to be a doubter, but that kinda torque that low seems unreal on a stock 86 cylinder.

Thanks for all the help! I'll have to keep checking into the different pipe ranges it seems like. Then I'll start messing with jetting so I don't blow the motor up!
