Not only is it done, It's one of the most popular upgrades people do.

yes ,yes that is true . but honestly there are a number of supporting mods he needs to do to get the full benefit of that much carb .
dan ,if you can get one at a great price get it but dont expect an explosion of power just because you put on a 39 fcr.
you need a full pipe ,a higher compression piston , cams ,a better air intake ,plus all the little tricks you have to do to set up the carb
to be honest with you you can pull 39 hp from the carb you have now if you have the right supporting mods

good point. It's a mod that ties alot of other mods together.

How much do you want for it?

As for jetting, Ive havent got there yet. Its still set up from the stock YFZ that it came from. Wont know much until I get the new swingarm assy. installed. Then I throw everything back together and plug chop it. One thing I did noticed, the intake side of the carb hooked up nice to my 400ex intake boot. I measured the intake on the Mikuni and the Keihin. Mikuni has a bigger intake than the Keihin. I remember how I really had to fight that intake boot on that Mikuni,so thats plus in my boot already for the Keihin.

:D

your going to need a different carb to head boot, which one you say ? seams to me one from a trx 450r will work or you could just use gas filler hose ,get it from NAPA

your stock throttle cable will have to be changed ,use the one from a YFZ and a thumb throttle from a trx 450 or a trx400ex , you can jet a cable that will work with your thumber, its like $60.

as far as jetting gos i know what works for me ,160 main jet
48 pilot jet ,as for the leak jet i pluged mine but a #35 may work for you.
there is an o- ring mod for the AP, i tired that but ended up zip- tieing it.
if the trottle pull feels to hard there is a lighter spring that can be had from EBay.
and there is a way to remove the TPS from the carb an a way to replace the idle ajustment.

I just used the stocker hose. From carb to head. I heated it up with a heat gun and I got on there. As for the carb, I got the entire YFZ set-up(carb,cable,and throttle). I actually kinda like that hard a** thumb throttle. Whats the stock jets on this FCR 39MM carb?

yes i have heard of guys using the stock C2HB ,tho that has to be a big stretch to get it on and i have heard of the boot cracking after a time.
do you have a pic of the carb looking in to the carb from through the boot side with the boot on ?

I think you want me to take a pic of the carb boot installed on the carb, but the pic would be of the inside of the boot?? Correct? I can do that, but its gonna be a few weeks since I offically have to work 11 days straight(12 hour shifts). The boot itself has a lip inside of it where the carb is suppose to mount up flush with it. It mounted up fine, but if you know another boot to use, then let me know.
