you do know that it takes two seconds to take out the spindles and the rest of the a-arm right? it looks messy. you should take your time, take it all apart. clean it and sand it. it will last longer and look alot nicer.

Alittle more prep time and it would have turned out better, One thing with using paint is the over spray it's a real pain but its always a good idea to remove the part before painting it otherwise your gonna get more parts painted than you wanted to.

Not sure how long that's gonna hold up before it looks bad.

It looks pretty decent now with the black though.

My dad painted his 300ex seat and it held up great. It looked funny at 1st because it was so shiny but after a few rides and getting some mud on it, it looked like a normal seat.

i think u screwed up by doing it all.    :ermm:

I like how it looks but, I seriously doubt it will last. Instead of blowing your money on spray paint won't don't you put that money towards new tires. You need them bad!

I also have a hard time seeing past that tore up stock bumper. What did you do, try to run over a tree?

07-21-2008, 10:54 AM
trees dont move:blah: i think it looks very ugly:ermm:

I just read this reply and started laughing to myself....cuz when I read this sentence the way it's written, all I can think of is POKEMON, or some other Japanese childrens cartoon.....you know how they all talk really fast, using seemingly endless run-on sentences......that seem to always end in 'Ha', or 'Hmm?'. :chinese:

Just playin' with ya Justin1022. Your bike looks pretty good. Though you may consider some satin clear coat or something on the a-arms and pieces that come in contact with abrassives (mud, dirt, work quad trailer hitches! :D )

blaaze416

Heck, just use the clear coating on the plastics before you go out and buy another set. My friend painted his daughter's and wife's quads, and used a couple coats of clear coat on each, and the paint's held up great for the past few months!

^^^ Really man, joking...and good call with the waiting to apply the clear. If you don't wait, the paint will react with the clear before it cures/ adheres to the plastic, and it will all chip or peel off. And save your money...wait to see how the plastics turn out.
Good luck!

I would advise to go with a 416 instead and not a 440 just yet otherwise you'll ruin a good motor in a snap.

really! the 440s are that bad? ok well what about a 426? and the reason i was going 440 is because then i wouldnt get my cylinder sleaved they sell a new cylinder and all on ebay... and i got cams already so maybe just a bore and a new timing chain and then exaust or what?

07-22-2008, 09:20 PM
i think you shoudl while you have the thing already that far apart do a good clean job and do some good paint on the frame and just get everything regreased, cleaned up, and even toss in some new bearing if needed. if you didd that i think it would be a great step in the right direction. IMO.
