Read the archives and could not find if you have to remove the carb to change needle clip position and to install the pilot jet, I figure you can get to the main with it on the quad but would like to find th quickest and easiest way to do this.

Thanks,

You can get to the main jet without taking the carb out.
With a 17mm socket, take off the nut that is on the bottom of the fuel bowl. From there, you can get a smaller socket (6mm or 7mm) to get the main out.

Don't overtighten the jet when you put the new one in! You could snap it off inside the carb.

Yep, if you are only doing the main jet, you dont have to remove the carb. Now if you are doing the pilot jet, and you've done it before, you COULD do it with the carb on by just taking the bowl off. Now if you are doing the needle jet, I would HIGHLY recommend taking the carb off...its not hard to do. If you are doing all three items...rip her off the quad. ;)
