I still have not found the September issue of Quad Magazine, but I noticed on rockymountainatv.com that when selecting models at the top they have 2009 "DS450X MX" and "DS450X XC" models. They have gotten rid of the DS450X, as you are only able to select an 08 model year on rockymountain. I'm still waiting to hear details on what these bikes have on them from the factory and what improvements have been made to the DS450.

Both are in the Sep Quad mag. The MX is 50" wide with fully adjustable a-arms, and the XC is 46" wide with caster adjustable a-arms. Retail was $8999 mx and $8799 XC.

Allmost forgot, with that price also comes with anti-vibe stem, full wrap handguards, aluminum skids, nerfs, and beadlocks with ITP tires. I think this price blows away KTM's new price by allmost $2000. There only complant was they thought the DS needed a bit more low end for XC racing.

I'm not sure who dropped the ball at Quad, but the info wasn;t legally allowed to be released until a certain date. I'm sure it will come down to the usual release date for that issue and the conflicting release date for the model of atv.(issue release was like a week earlier then model release date etc)


The info that was posted here was removed to cover our butts and yes, we get contacted by the manufacture when they see this stuff on our site....daily:p

I know its probably ok, but since I havent been told what fly's and what doesnt I will have to lets whats posted stay right where it is due to it being released on a limited basis through a magazine.

I know we have the full skinny ready to be posted at a press of the button but until we get official word to release it early or the release date arrives, we cant do anything.

I have the issue of quad and the ds's look pretty sweet. Id post pics but is it still a secret? Only thing I see wrong is that the radiator is in the same spot in the open, but it does have a little more plastic to maybe help it from overheating. Other than that both bikes look sweet. In Quad they said the mx is the most race ready mx bike ever tested.

I got dirtwheels today but I dont have the equipment to take a pic for you guys. Looks good it got some sharper headlights. Same axle. Same motor. MX version has +2 steel a arms. Same shocks I think. New colors are white and red. Im sure atvriders.com will have it on the homepage in a couple days anyways.

i've sat on the 2008 i think it was at the dealer and i must say its a very nice quad! Nerfbars and steel braided lines from the factory, aftermarket wheels and tires from the factory... if i had the money i'd buy 1. They look awesome havent had a chance to ride 1 yet. I thought the brakes on my 400ex were good with steel braided, these brakes were like you couldnt pull the lever more than an inch!

I like the 08 headlights way more then the 09's, they look to much like the YFZ headlights

i think they are different shocks. There meant to be alot better than the 08s. I think the new shocks are 3 stages up from the 08 shocks. The stock shocks were good anyway so these should be awesome!
