Well I've decided that in my old age (22) its about time for me to get into the "bike thing" again. lol....

I've owned a couple 600cc class bikes in the past and liked them but didn't wanna run back to that.

Post what you've got. I won't have pics of mine til weds as I just got word that it came in yesterday nite and won't be setup til weds for me.

yea i thought he lived overseas somewhere too. theres that one vid on youtube of him wheelin his turbo busa really fast, probably near 200mph.

anyways, guess it doesnt count as a superbike, but maybe falls under the sportbike class. heres my ninja 250. cant get a big bike yet, still only 16 but it gets me to work and back every day... 60mpg. and they're a lot faster than people think. i get a lot of crap for riding a "moped" but i beat my friends A4 1.8 turbo up to 100 and can beat most cars around here. you just gotta keep the rpms over 12k:devil:

sure you heard it a thousand times but BE CAREFUL. a guy i kinda knew crashed 2 days ago down from my house. hes an older guy, in his 40s and flys by at well over 100 every day. always had a NICE R6 but traded in for a new busa and had it for about 3 weeks. he was doing 120 and a car started to back out and he swerved and lost it. nothing life threatening but a bunch of broken bones.

post some pics of that ducati when you get it, sounds sick. i dont know ducatis that well so you gotta tell us what its like? is it a naked? i always loved the monsters. never liked the sound of a ducati though:ermm:

Nice bikes guys. Well the reason I went with Ducati is because I really didn't want to have something that everyone else has. I am always looking for unique things, even on the quads that i ride and build.

Ducati is well known for building high quality bikes, and having the latest technology to match. Would you rather be driving a Nissan 350z, or a Ferrari? You tell me?

Here is a pic of my identical bike. Mine is being pulled from the crate this morning and is going thru pre-delivery inspection. I'm heading to the dealership around noon to go check it out.

Just curious, what did you pay for your 848? I've heard that 600's from other company's will give the 848 a run for their money... If it's true I would be pissed. I want a 999s or 999r  I would kill myself for sure with one of those.

xsr_racing28c

I paid $14300 otd.

It is true that the 600 class bikes are close in power to the 848, but on the track the 848's handling is far superior.

Also, just so you know, the 848 has better power to weight than the 999 series bikes, and if I'm not mistaken many guys are going to 848's from 999's and are floored at how much better the 848 is than the 999.

Thanks, Jay

the ducati is a v4 correct? i never really liked the sound of a v-engine in a sport bike, but they are def. nice machines. good luck with it.

did anyone catch the laguna seca race yesterday? great racing between valentino rossi and casey stoner out front. stoner was really pushing but couldnt get around, ended up going wide into the dirt and dumping it, but picked it up and finished 2nd still on his ducati.

I didn't catch Moto GP, but got to watch a bit of Seca until the g/f got sick of it..haha..

That moto GP bike is sick! Its based off the DD16 Desmosedici that is a "production" bike base priced at $72.5k. My dealer has three Desmo's parked next to my bike out back in the race shop when I went to look at it. I WANT ONE!!! LOL...

From the 999s I've heard that to, but anyone with a 999r is dusting everyone in sight. The R is a true race ready bike. The only thing they do to race them in the superbike races is put slicks on them..

The 999r is also a $30k bike. Though its a good bike, its not up to racing standards if we're talking superbike or moto gp style racing. Those bikes are completely worked and have $60-100k into them no problem.

Oh yeah...put some SATOs' on the RC for that 'chopper on crack' sound
I'm deciding between the RC51 or early model CBR 900RR.
BTW,that 848 is sick!
