I've always wondered what the advantage of aftermarket swingarms is? I understand that some are different lengths, but if you were to replace a stock swingarm with a Houser for example, what are you gaining? Is it just lighter and/or stronger?

It's mainly for strength, but you can also get a different style chain guide mount. Also, some LT linkages mount differently to swingarm.

I agree, pretty much for greater strength. I already cracked the left front pivot right off of my stock swinger, so I just bought another used stock one since aftermarket swingers are very expensive. Not so much for the weight because most aftermarket swingers will be made of something along the lines of chromoly steel which is a lot heavier than the stock cast aluminum swinger.
