is anyone here running duals on their 400? i knwo somebody out there makes a kit, but im thinking im going to do it myself and have it come out together under my grab bar. its gonna be loud as hell, but it will give me max power having no back pressure. any input?

Actually if you give it some back pressure you'll have more power.

u dont need back pressure , if that was the case our quads would run better with the stock pipe vs a straight thorugh aftermarket pipe , u need scavinging or enough velocity to pull the exhuast gasses thorugh the pipe thats wut makes power not backpressure

it is good to have a little backpressure but to much win't help anything

backpressre doesnt produce torque velocity inside the exhaust does as known as scavagin effect which is the ablility to pull the exhuast gasses like a vaccum that produces power in this case duals are great if u can make them ure self just becuz they cost so much to buy from LTE, but if u do make ure own dont use hudge headers and midpipes on there or u will lose some lowend torque do to the exhaust gasses flowin so slow at low rpms, the stock header diameter would be great for torque on a true dual setup but this would be a cool projet have true duals with hmf mufflers

thats my plan..i alredy have one hmf..im going to run my own tru-duals in 2" diameter all the way back to the muffler

2 inches? isnt that a little to much?id say like an 1.5" would do it. whats CSR big core size? i know the head pipe looks a little large.ive been contemplating this idea of the duals myself. but id have to fork over another 300 for hte motoworks and wouldnt even know if it would provide an benefits

yeah 2 inches is way to big even for a big bore motor but for a i woud say 1.5 inches pipes are plety big enough and should provide alot of topend power and sound great ,, ,,TRX_450 wut motor mods do u have

I run duals on mine!!! its the LTE kit that i have modded a bit........
We just got a new mobile dyno so i will try to get it on there and run her up a bit and post what i have, then slap the HMF back on there and show ya a dif!!!, the only bad thing is the humidity this time of year around here.....
And if anybody is lookin for a dyno in the midwest area, mainly Iowa, let me know!!! We are a dynojet approved tuning center, and are mobile so if there is an event going that is lookin for one just PM me!!
