Well a I kinda have a new little project its a older kawasaki kx80 big wheel that a buddy of mine had sitting in a old shed so I asked him what he was doing with it and said nothing becuase it dosent run and then somehow it came down to me working on it lol since he has no idea about motors or that but it just sat at my house for about 2 years and well I got a little bored and decided to tear it apart, the only problem is that im not sure about the year, no sticker or anything on the frame but there are the numbers on the motor it says kx080RE008997 and the last 2 numbers 97 the bike looks exactly like a 97 but just wondering if anyone could help..

VIN will most likely be on the frame, where the stem goes through. not sure how to determan the year by the engine # without looking it up in the dealer network.
