ok i"ll check the spark plug and my gas is about a year old but i wanted to warm up the oil, is it possible that the gas wouldnt spark and start it
yup, gas gets stale. Also if it has sat that long, then you may want to take the carb apart and clean it. The gas will seperate in the carb causing corrosion, and the jets get all junked up.

^ take the individual jet out and clean them and blow the nossels of the jets out with compressed air

where are the jets located
In the carb. Since it won't start, I would start by taking the carb off and cleaning it out. Clean the jets and all.

Use the little screw at teh bottom of the carb and drain out the old gas from the bowl,, p[ump it about 6 or 7 times and try and start it, you should be good. Z.

When I say pump it, I mean the throttle...
