I am thinking about riding in sand. Is this hard on my 400ex. should I do any thing to prep my 400. should I oil change frequently between rides at dunes or anything else. Thanks

get some paddles and some shockcovers to protect your shocks.

If your running an open air box make sure to run an outerwears cover on it... Which you should be ruinning regardless with an open air box...

pantyhose works good if you don't have an outerware (for your airfilter)

Some engine builders recommend running more oil than the engine calls for as you are usually running on some steep angles and slopes. That is probably why some have had to add oil. It tends to get spit out the crankcase breather on steep, long hill climbs.

wd-40 dries the o-rings out and hurys up the ruination of the chain, if u use wd-40, let it sit for a few min, everything is all stripped off and cleaned, then oil the chain up, and ride around a lil

Not the chain wax I use. Use Maxima, I run it on my banshee, and it only goes to the dunes, and no sand sticks to it. WD 40 will ruin the O-Rings, so dont use that.
