I'm running an open box due to the hrc kit. So I did one of those covers by Outerwears. Love hate relationship, don't know why they don't just make them with an elastic all the way around.

But anyways, bought it from the local dealer. They ordered it from Parts Unlimited.

I am talking about the prefilter. I believe you are talking about the airbox cover.

I run a UNI with outerwear (on the filter) on my 400ex; its the same filter for the 450r. C&D racing can get you the outerwear:D

I am running a uni filter and the outerwears but had my airbox lid vented to get the air. Couldn't ask for better results. You may have to rejet as I did on my 08.

I am after running an ehs air box lid and uni filter with outerwear prefilter. I plan to do the hrc kit and maybe eventually a slip on mainly for looks and weight shed. I will be adding a boyseen quickshot 2 to the carb maybe as it worked well on my crf 450r.

I had the quikshot but went to the R&D Powerpump and she starts better and breathes fire. The quikshot's bowl was to small, so switched to R&D and couldn't be happier. I also put the carb plates in on both sides. Here kitty kitty!

A carb plate goes before and after the carb and it enhances the air and fuel flow to the motor. These in tune with the R&D powerpump have woke my beast up. Better starting, meaning I can put her in first gear and hit the start button and she will fire up. I done some tricks to the wiring so I can start in gear and not have the clutch pulled in. Gotta be careful with that though. A CRF ignition helps out too.
