engine knock

Hey guys, new to this forum. Thought i would start out by asking a question. I have a loud engine knock at idle but seems to go away after the r.p.m's climb. It sounds like it is in the bottom end of the motor. Any ideas what it could be? Thanks in advance.

what year is the bike? the lower rod bearings go a little and its a nice knock. ill put my money on that. I did a 440 on ,y buddys and he beats thepiss out ofit and when I had the cylinder off the rod moved side to side. and his is an 02 and mines an 01. his knock smooths out higher rpm. but my yz250 has a knock and I know the rod bearing needs to be replaced. you an probly go a season or 2 before worrying about it

The bike is an 04. It does not have alot of miles on it so i don't understand where this loud knock came from.

well i didnt make it out to sound like if you beat the piss out of it, taht will happen. nothing is made to last and it can just wear faster than it should.
