Stock rims are stonger and lighter than .190s.

The last place to buy rims or tire are OEM. You can find used stock rims many places for less than what the dealer will charge you for one. Some riders have to have after market rims and will unload them on e-bay or on the for sale areas.
Try and get the R or old 300EX rims. They are stronger than the new 400 rims. Look at the date on the rim, get one that is stamped before 99 for the good ones if possible.

Stock rims are stronger, but they are heavier. I was gonna weld reinforcement rings in mine.
Douglas Reds are .190.

Yup
The blacks are .160

The price difference between the reds and blacks make the reds worth it. They are only a few bucks more and they are way more durable. My friend ran reds on his R and I ran blacks. I am having my wheel welded up for the second time cause I nearly ripped the center out of it. His still look new.
